First wedding at oaxaca

There are weddings that stay with you, not just because of how they look, but because of how they feel.

Cristian and Jesús’ wedding in Huatulco, Oaxaca was one of those celebrations. A day full of genuine emotion, laughter, and the kind of love that is effortless and deeply felt.

For me, this wedding was also especially meaningful, it marked my first time documenting a wedding in Oaxaca, a place filled with color, warmth, and an energy that makes every moment feel alive.

From the very beginning, you could feel how special this day was. Cristian and Jesús were surrounded by their closest family and friends, creating an atmosphere that felt intimate, joyful, and incredibly authentic.

It wasn’t about perfection, it was about connection.

The way they looked at each other, the laughter shared with their loved ones, the spontaneous moments that unfolded throughout the day… everything felt real and beautifully unfiltered.

Huatulco offered the perfect backdrop for their celebration.

The ocean, the warm light, and the relaxed rhythm of the destination created an environment where everyone could truly be present. Destination weddings have this unique magic, people travel not just to attend, but to fully live the experience.

And this wedding was exactly that:

A celebration of love, friendship, and togetherness.

Low angle view of coconut palm trees with green fronds against bright sky during golden hour.
Two people in white shirts embrace lovingly during a romantic sunset photoshoot.
Silhouettes of elephants walking along horizon against dramatic orange sunset sky in Africa.
Brown leather dress shoes and wedding rings arranged artistically with ribbons and decorative elements.
Groomsmen in light colored suits with turquoise accents pose together in an indoor setting with colorful artwork.
A person in a white dress shirt and light blue suspenders stands near a window with a joyful expression.
Person in white shirt adjusts sleeve cuff while standing in elegant interior hallway.
Two people in pastel suits stand back-to-back on a grassy lawn with tropical palm trees in the background.
Group of people walking and chatting together on a dirt path through a wooded area.
Person in a white suit jacket removes and eats a rainbow pride flag pin against a tropical palm background.

As a photographer, my intention was simple:

to capture the day exactly as it felt.

Blending a documentary approach with an editorial eye, I focused on:

  • Genuine emotions
  • Natural interactions
  • Soft, flattering light
  • Moments that often go unnoticed

Because at the end of the day, those are the memories that matter the most.

Cristian and Jesús’ wedding was a reminder of why I love what I do.

Love, in its purest form, doesn’t need staging, it simply needs to be felt and preserved.

And being able to document that, especially in a place like Oaxaca, made this experience truly unforgettable.

If you’re planning a destination wedding in Oaxaca or Los Cabos, and you’re looking for a photographer who values real moments and timeless storytelling, I would love to connect with you.
